The JCRC/AJC has for years had the privilege of building bridges with our interfaith partners in the local Hindu community. The Hindu and Jewish communities have much in common; they have faced similar challenges in the past and share common goals and values. The JCRC/AJC works with our friends in the Hindu community to strengthen this important relationship on behalf of the greater Jewish community. Every year since 2019, we have hosted a joint Hanukkah-Diwali celebration to commemorate the festival of lights for both of our faiths. In the summer of 2023, JCRC/AJC and our Hindu and Indian-American partnering organizations hosted an exciting Israel and India at 75 event to celebrate 75 years of independence for both countries, as well as the warm and enduring bond between our two communities here in Metro Detroit.
