As the liaison between the Detroit Jewish community and the public at large, JCRC/AJC works to maintain and improve ongoing relationships with major ethnic, religious, racial and civic groups in metropolitan Detroit. Our outreach to ethnic groups, including the African American, Hispanic, Chaldean and Arab communities, enables us to collaborate on issues, such as minority rights and immigration reform. Among the intergroup organizations that JCRC/AJC partners with or participates in are the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, New Detroit, Inc. and the Chaldean Federation of America.
JCRC/AJC works regularly with metro Detroit’s diverse faith communities to promote mutual understanding, respect and cooperation. We have close working relationships with the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Interfaith Leadership Council.
Through JCRC/AJC, members of the Jewish community participate in a broad range of community programs that provide face-to-face and hands-on encounters with diverse groups of their non-Jewish neighbors.
